Music Style
|
Music is a big part of our morning worship service. It is a chance for us to bring ourselves before an awesome God and humbly offer our voices and our hearts to Him in worship.
At GHWC, we have what we like to call a "blended service." A wide range of ages are represented in our congregation, and we try to plan the musical portion of our service accordingly by singing the classic hymns, such as those written by Charles Wesley and Bill Gaither, as well as modern worship songs by contemporary worship leaders like Chris Tomlin and the David Crowder Band. In an effort to bridge the gap between generations, we actively search for "old" songs that have been given a "new" sound, which is a popular trend in worship music today.

Our style of worship varies each week. One week might be more of a traditional, piano-led sound, and the next week might be more contemporary, with a full band. We encourage you to worship in whatever way you like, whether it is lifting your voice, raising your hands, or clapping along with the beat.

An important thing to remember when entering a time of worship is that it isn't about us, or what we want or prefer. It is about God, and offering all that we have to Him. We believe that no matter what the music style, God is glorified when our hearts are opened to Him.
