Children are a special priority at GHWC. We invest a large percentage of our resources into our children's ministries in order to ensure that we can offer safe, quality programs for kids of all ages.
Our staff is committed to teaching children about Jesus Christ in a safe, age-friendly environment. There are plenty of ways for your child to get involved and learn about a God who loves him or her very much!
We believe you're never too young to start learning about Jesus. That's why we offer Sunday school classes for children as young as 18 months. From Bible lessons to Scripture memory to prayer and praise time, Sunday school offers lots of opportunities for kids to grow in their faith. Children's Sunday school is divided into Toddler (18 months - 3 years), 3s and 4s (3 and 4 year olds), Preschool and Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, 3rd and 4th grade, and 5th and 6th grade classes.
Children's Church
Sundays, 11:00 AM-12:00 PM at the church
We offer Toddler Church (18 months-3 years), Primary Church (4 years-kindergarten), and Children's Church (1st-6th grade). Children in grades 1-6 meet right before the morning worship service and walk upstairs together to join the adults for worship time. They then go back downstairs for an age-appropriate Bible lesson.
Nursery
Sundays, 9:45 AM-12:00 PM
WeWe have two nurseries available for babies and pre-toddlers. The baby nursery is located upstairs and is for babies from birth until they begin to crawl. The pre-toddler nursery is downstairs and is for any child crawling until 18 months of age.
Clubhouse for Kids
Wednesdays, 6:15-7:45 PM at Verona Elementary School (during the school year)
Clubhouse for Kids is a fun time of games and learning for kids 4 years old through 6th grade. Activities and Bible lessons are specially planned so that each child can understand and participate. Parents are welcome to stay and help, and even join in!
Summer Children's Musical
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 PM at the church (Summer only)
Every summer, the children from our church as well as the surrounding community are invited to be a part of the annual summer children's musical. Practices are held every Wednesday night from June to September, and performances take place the weekend after Labor Day. Kids not only learn fun songs and speaking parts, but they also learn valuable lessons about a Savior who loves them.
